“Having ‘sat in’ on numerous course presentations, I can attest to his outstanding competence as an instructor; the full and total immersion of students during each and every class experience. He is actually impeccable in his organization and content delivery. He provides students with vast examples and illustrations of how performing arts mirror contemporary life and what we have come to acknowledge as cultural diversification.” -Dr. Carmen Iannaccone, Professor – Department of Exceptional Education Buffalo State College |

“Throughout my college career I have experienced two types of professors: the forgettable men and women who have put forth the obligatory effort with a dispassionate drone, and the professors like Chuck Mancuso possessing a passion, knowledge, and excitement for music and films that is not only contagious but permanent. Mr. Mancuso introduced jazz into my life. Having been seduced into a punk rock lifestyle, I was excited by the head boppin’ lectures, his encyclopedic book POPULAR MUSIC AND THE UNDERGROUND, and the three screens behind him supporting his audio and video lectures. As a visual artist I am stimulated by his creation of a multi-media learning environment. Aside from his being one of the most influential professors, he has attended my photographic exhibition at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center as well as taking an active role in my application of Film Noir into my images.” - Amy Caterina, ex-student/teacher & artist |
